MR2 enthusiast Roy Sparks fully understands the term “Labour of Love” as he has spent hundreds if not thousands of hours restoring his beloved 1987 Toyota MR2.
Roy has been a Loyal customer at Inchcape Toyota Basingstoke for many years now and says he has lost count of how much he has spent at the Centre over the years, as Roy says “it’s not really about the money, it’s almost become an obsession” he is proud to say the car has won, and been runner up in a few concourse competitions over the years, but he says “it’s not just a show piece, it is used by my wife on a fairly regular basis!”
However in his search for the car to be ”Even better”, it has recently undergone a complete restoration, which has seen both rear quarter panels replaced and a total re-spray, the engine bay has had virtually all the nuts and bolts replaced, along with a few personal tweak’s, as the car does not look completely standard, as when it was new, as he has made a few colour changes in the engine bay to be aesthetically pleasing.
Roy also said he was very grateful to the parts staff saying, “they have always been very helpful and often gone above the call of duty in finding parts which have now become obsolete, and offered me discount on all my purchases because of my loyalty”.
Parts Manager Colin Graham said, “we at Inchcape Basingstoke always strive to give the best customer service to all our customers and said it has been a pleasure in helping Mr Sparks achieve his goals in restoring his MR2 to its current standard”
