Toyota have released additional specs for the new 2014 Yaris, ahead of the first deliveries early next month.
According to the company, the new Yaris introduces a grade trim structure that’s designed to help broaden the appeal of the model for a more diverse customer base.
The line-up offers more choice, equipment options and a wealth of advanced features for increased passenger comfort and safety, as well as improved communications and style.
Furthermore, each grade has its own character that’s set apart by details like interior trim, centre console and instrument panel, as well as exterior elements including the lower grille and wheels.
Previously established Active and Icon grade levels are present, while new additions include the Sport and Excel trim options, and the Yaris Hybrid model can be specified in either Icon or Excel variants.
Standard equipment across the range includes a leather-trimmed steering wheel, air conditioning and the latest multimedia system from Toyota, the Touch 2.
Building on the company’s previous infotainment system, the Touch 2 offers a new seven-inch touchscreen display with a higher resolution than its predecessor.
The system includes Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free phone calls and send and receive text messages, while it will also display vehicle information and trip data, a feed from the rear-view camera, and can also manage settings for door locking and cabin lighting.
The Touch 2 system also includes DAB digital radio and smartphone connectivity as standard, and with the addition of the ‘Go’ option, available on Icon, Sport and Excel trim levels, the system can access a range of applications which include real-time traffic updates and weather, parking and fuel price information.
On the exterior, the new Yaris is available in ten different colour options, which include the new Island Blue metallic and Hybrid-exclusive Avantgarde Bronze.
A range of optional packages are also on offer; the Appearance Pack, available exclusively on Excel models, adds a rear spoiler, privacy glass on the rear window and a Skyview panoramic roof, while the Smart Pack will add auto-folding door mirrors and push-button start.
LED rear lamps and daytime running lights are also available, while Sport models can be further specific with the vivacious Piri Piri red interior trim to spice up door panels, front seat upholstery and soft-touch instrument panel.
Other package options include the Protection Pack which adds mudflaps, rear bumper protection and front and rear parking sensors, while the Style Pack features aluminium scuff plates and a chrome finish on door sills, diffuser trims and tailpipes.
The new Toyota Yaris is available to order now, and deliveries to UK customers are due to start from early August.
