The UK’s top motoring guide, Glass’s, found that the Toyota Prius was the best selling used car in September, holding the top spot for the second month in a row.

At number eight was another Toyota Corporation vehicle; the Lexus RX who’s success is widely considered to be down to the hybrid model, showing a promising pattern in hybrid vehicle sales.

Head of valuations at Glass’s, Rupert Pontin, said: “It will be interesting to see whether this situation continues over the coming months. The success of the Prius certainly highlights the value-for-money status of this model and reiterates the importance of low running costs to second-hand car buyers.”

The Toyota Prius has been at the forefront of the hybrid industry since its inception and was the first mass-produced hybrid model, not only that, but it has continued it's reputation by being one of the cleanest and low cost models for motorists to run.
