Toyota’s new advert for its Yaris Hybrid has hit the internet and UK TV screens this month, promoting the fun and relaxing drive it can offer.
The advert can be viewed now in full over on the official Toyota Motor Europe YouTube channel. The idea behind this promotion is to spread the message that the latest Yaris Hybrid is so easy and relaxing to drive in town that you’ll want to sing with happiness.
To make this advert, Toyota took over streets in the centre of Prague and turned them into a playlist by replacing street names with song titles.
A selection of drivers then drove through the roads in a Yaris Hybrid, which had its stereo connected to the GPS system. The result is that each time the car turned a corner; it triggered a new song according to the current street name. The drivers had the opportunity to choose what to sing by choosing which route to drive. The best performers were picked to appear on the final TV advert.
The latest Toyota Yaris Hybrid makes up part of the supermini’s current range, and it is available to buy now in UK showrooms. There are two Hybrid specifications in the latest Yaris line-up and the cheapest, the Icon trim version, is priced from £16,195. Meanwhile the Yaris Hybrid in the higher spec Excel trim level costs from £17,695.
Both versions of the latest Yaris Hybrid use a 1.5-litre VVT-i petrol engine combined with an electric motor. This powertrain utilises an automatic gearbox as standard. The frugal supermini has a total combined output of 100bhp, while CO2 emissions are just 75g/km. The official combined fuel economy for the Yaris Hybrid is an impressive 85.6mpg.
Standard equipment for new Toyota Yaris Hybrid models includes climate control, a rear-view camera, Bluetooth connectivity and 15-inch alloy wheels. If you specify the Yaris Hyrbid in Excel trim you get more luxuries such as LED daytime running lights, cruise control, DAB raido and part-leather seats.
