Although the new generation of Toyota Touch 2 infotainment and navigation systems are technically simplistic, the brand has produced a range of how-to videos to help customers who might be unfamiliar with some of the system’s language.

Toyota Touch 2 In Car System
All new Toyota models are fitted with its Touch 2 system, as an upgrade to the original Toyota Touch technology.

The Japanese manufacturer is proud of its new technology and states that the Touch 2 system will provide drivers with new and improved functions on a sharper display screen.

Toyota Touch 2 features include displaying key information such as fuel economy, a DAB radio and ‘MirrorLink’ technology. MirrorLink allows drivers to connect their mobile phone to the system and operate it entirely from the system’s touchscreen.

Toyota’s ‘how-to’ videos cover everything from pairing your mobile phone for hands-free Bluetooth calls, music streaming and internet access, to setting up an online account and installing handy applications.

The manufacturer aims for the videos to act as an expert, who drivers can consult whenever they need to.

General Manager of Toyota Vehicle Marketing, Daniel Hilbert, commented: “We want all our customers to be able to enjoy the full benefits of Toyota Touch 2.

“From being able to listen to their favourite tracks direct from their phone, to downloading and using apps that can add extra dimensions of information and local area intelligence to their route planning.

“The technology is designed to be easy and intuitive to use, but we appreciate that for some customers, taking the initial step to set things up and get going can be daunting.”

He continued on to say that Toyota believes that customers will benefit greatly from ‘how-to’ videos, rather than an instructions manual.

Altogether, there are 10 videos which cover the functions of Toyota Touch 2, Toyota Touch 2 with Go and the top of the range Toyota Touch 2 with Go plus.
