With the new generation Yaris being used as the base for Toyota Gazoo Racing's new World Rally Championship car, Toyota will be unveiling a new high-performance Yaris at the Geneva Motor Show in March this year.
Based on the three-door version, which is also used by the TGR team, this new model will have more than 210bhp under the bonnet and by taking some of the expert knowledge from the Finland-based team, the car will be set up to be dynamic and a top challenger in the hot hatch market.
With the sportier orientation, modifications to the front and rear styling as well as the interior means that this Yaris feels like no other before it. Technical alterations will also be made to improve the overall feel of the car including with the handling and the ride.
Following TGR's impressive start to the WRC season with a second place finish for Jari-Matti Latvala, it can be expected that the new car will be just as good at challenging the established names on the hot hatch market.
